📋 Description

• Define, support, secure, and administer SQL Server databases to ensure optimal performance and availability • Perform database management, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security management, diagnostics, and issue resolution • Troubleshoot SQL Server, SQL Cluster, Oracle, and MS Access issues, including error triage • Troubleshoot application-related issues connected to database development, support, and management • Respond to requests for change for maintenance and enhancements • Assist users in creating and building SQL and Oracle databases • Perform server maintenance and install software patches • Establish and enforce database security policies, user access controls, and data encryption • Monitor and optimize database performance • Plan, implement, and manage backup and recovery strategies • Create and maintain database documentation • Collaborate with users, management, and other stakeholders

🎯 Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years’ experience in database management • Proficiency across MS SQL, SQL Server, SQL Cluster Environments, Maria DB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MS Access • Experience creating and managing standalone SQL databases • Experience troubleshooting daily SQL Server, SQL Cluster, Oracle, and/or MS Access issues, including error triage • Experience troubleshooting application-related issues as they relate to database development, support, and management • Experience responding to requests for change (RFCs) for maintenance and/or enhancements • Experience assisting users in creating and building SQL and/or Oracle databases • Experience performing server maintenance and installing software patches • Experience establishing and enforcing database security policies, user access controls, and data encryption • Experience monitoring and optimizing database performance • Experience planning, implementing, and managing backup and recovery strategies • Ability to create and maintain database documentation • Ability to work individually and as part of a team • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels of management and other stakeholders • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent degree preferred • Prior Federal experience preferred
