📋 Description

• Monitor existing and potential energy market rules and regulatory developments in PJM and the southeast region • Establish and oversee strategies to influence desired energy regulations • Explain existing PJM market rules and formulate and execute market strategies, policy, and advocacy • Participate actively in PJM stakeholder processes • Analyze proposed market rules and develop company-specific proposals • Build alliances and strategic relationships with stakeholders • Present energy market rules and regulations to internal team members • Collaborate with Regulatory, Trading, Operations, Origination, Legal, Compliance, Development, and other departments • Participate in industry trade associations and stakeholder coalitions • Build relationships with PJM staff, state regulators, state agencies, NGOs, and industry peers • Influence energy policy and regulation through networking and industry organizations • Assist with due diligence for M&A activities and commercial transactions • Manage external consultants and lobbyists

🎯 Requirements

• 10 years of wholesale markets regulatory experience, including at least 5 years of PJM market and regulatory experience • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, Political Science, or a related field • Master’s degree preferred • Strategic thinking, analytical capabilities, and strong negotiation skills • Strong political acuity and knowledge of power and environmental markets, specifically in PJM • Experience working with trade associations, coalitions, outside consultants, regulators, stakeholders, and industry advocacy groups • Ability to resolve differences and build relationships and alliances • Experience in project or case management and project teams • Ability to identify and assess business threats and opportunities • Ability to explain complex PJM regulatory and market rules to external audiences at detailed and high levels • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to manage external consultants and lobbyists • Ability to work independently and high self-motivation • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with advocacy and western regional governance • Extensive network with energy regulatory, policy, and environmental stakeholders in PJM regions • Willingness to travel approximately 30%–50% depending on location
