📋 Description

• Lead the direction, completion, and outcome of assigned building assessment projects and related services according to ASTM standards and/or client-specific scopes of work • Discuss project sites with site contacts and municipal facilities • Conduct client-facing, on-site building and environmental assessments • Prepare accurate written reports describing assessment findings and meeting specialized client scope requirements • Review previous assessment reports, historical and regulatory records, property records, construction documents, maintenance reports, safety reports, warranties, and repair/improvement costs • Communicate with local Building, Zoning, and Fire Departments regarding outstanding property violations and required corrective actions • Travel to client sites across the U.S.; common patterns include one day onsite followed by one day at home, with possible overnight and weekend travel • Communicate project status, issues, and report delivery updates to the leadership team and production team • Survey building equipment and systems, structures, foundations, interiors, common areas, exteriors, roofs, and pavement • Observe mechanical systems and components to identify significant physical deficiencies • Obtain measurements and quantities to support repair, replacement, and reserve-cost estimates • Interview owners, tenants, service providers, government agencies, and other knowledgeable individuals • Provide photographic documentation of sites • Develop project plans and assessments using professional and technical judgment • Act as technical lead for specialized projects and protocols • Meet productivity and report-quality objectives • Deliver timely customer service and proactive solutions • Follow company policies, standard operating procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, and quality standards • Maintain confidentiality and safe, clean work areas

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university in a related field, plus a minimum of three years of related experience • In lieu of a degree, five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Valid driver's license required with no significant MVA points/violations (clean driving record) • Current AHERA, Asbestos Inspector Certification, or OSHA-40-hour certification preferred • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures • Ability to present information and respond to questions from clients, peers, and technical field staff • Proficiency with computers, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management software, including Quire and AssetCalc, Microsoft Suite, business-specific software, and project-specific applications • Ability to operate an electronic tablet in the field for live data collection • Understanding of construction materials and methods, environmental concerns, cost estimating, and industry standards • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders • Ability to work independently and in a team environment • Ability to work from a remote location • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job • Must have a cell phone and supply your own internet service • Ability to travel by plane, motor vehicle, and train to client sites across the U.S. • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods, climb stairs and ladders, work in crawl spaces and on roofs, and occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds
