📋 Description

• Oversee architectural project development for Burlington downsizes and remodels • Oversee direct-hired architectural teams and coordinate with landlord-hired architects through architectural development until handoff to the construction team • Visit sites with architects and assess existing conditions • Contract with direct-hired architects and site-adapt architects • Coordinate construction document development and permitting • Review and redline construction documents and shop drawings • Update project data in Lucernex • Track and manage soft costs and invoices to stay within budget • Coordinate with the internal prototype design and store innovations teams on drawing-related issues and global design changes • Serve as the primary cross-departmental point of contact for project-related tasks • Coordinate with landlord architects, engineers, and landlords on construction document and permitting schedules • Assist with scope questions and RFIs • Coordinate internal deliverables for final construction documents • Manage the direct-hired permitting vendor and required documentation • Coordinate with the construction team on bidders lists and bid packages • Attend pre-bid walks and assist with site-specific drawing and field-condition questions • Assist with financial forecasting, value engineering, and change-order reduction • Attend project development kickoff, value engineering, and status calls • Collaborate with Real Estate, Facilities, Loss Prevention, Information Technology, Construction, Store Innovation, store planning, and pre-development teams

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Architecture • 5+ years of experience in architectural and/or construction management with a major retail brand or design firm • 5+ years of architectural experience • Proficiency with architectural construction documents • Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs, database type applications, and project management software such as Plangrid • Knowledge of Bluebeam • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with business partners • Ability to develop, drive and implement the strategy • Sound understanding of the retail / store planning & design / construction industry • Ability to effectively and strategically work in a dynamic, fast paced environment • Knowledge of MEP systems • Ability to negotiate with landlords on scope of work and lease language
