📋 Description

• Provide enterprise-wide strategic leadership for global trade compliance and operations • Design, implement, and oversee international import and export compliance programs • Direct corporate multi-jurisdictional customs governance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and parallel international customs authorities across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM • Standardize and audit worldwide trade master data, including HTS classifications, Country of Origin, and customs valuation methodologies • Design and execute duty savings programs through FTAs, Duty Drawback, Bonded Warehouses, and FTZs • Direct cross-border compliance frameworks for commercial drug products and biologics • Ensure FDA master data accuracy throughout the supply chain and serve as lead investigator and responder for FDA import alerts • Govern imports and exports of animal-derived components, biological media, cell lines, and enzymes; coordinate with APHIS for permits and veterinary health certificates • Direct trade compliance programs for chemical formulations and lab reagents under TSCA • Manage positive/negative TSCA certifications • Command licensing and declaration processes for materials derived from protected animal or plant species under CITES and ESA • Maintain strategy and processes for internal trade assessments, external government audits, and submissions of PSCs and PDs • Maintain SLAs, SOPs, and KPIs for international customs brokers and freight forwarders • Develop global trusted trader programs including C-TPAT, AEO, and PIP • Improve deemed exports, export controls, sanctions screenings, and dual-use programs within a cross-functional team • Lead teams, projects, programs, or resource allocation as applicable

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or similar and 8+ years of progressive experience in Global Trade Compliance required • Master’s degree and 6+ years of progressive experience in Trade Compliance, preferably within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or CRO industry • 5+ years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources preferred • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook) • Advanced expertise in GTM systems, TMS architecture, and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP) • Early morning or evening meetings may be required due to the global nature of the company • Willingness to travel 20%
