📋 Description

• Provide speech and language treatment to K–12 students with communication disorders • Use standardized, curriculum-based, portfolio, and authentic assessment techniques • Work with students using AAC and sign language • Make recommendations to IEP teams based on assessment findings and identified disabilities • Maintain student records and collect data on goals • Prepare materials for students and families for virtual therapy and home use • Schedule speech therapy sessions with students’ families • Support students in general education settings and with special education support services • Deliver services specified in students’ IEPs • Complete case logs, progress reports, and other required documentation • Work under the direct supervision of the Director of Student Support Services and a licensed speech-language pathologist • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Must currently reside in California, specifically one of the 42 California counties served/hired in • Must hold a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant License issued by the Speech-Language Pathology, Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board at the time of applying • Associate degree in an SLPA program or bachelor’s degree in speech-language pathology or communication disorders • Minimum of 100 hours of supervised field work experience or clinical experience equivalent • Demonstrated competency in SLPA skills • Strong content and subject-matter knowledge • Ability to support and guide adults and students • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Organization and time-management skills • Excellent writing and grammar skills • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint in a professional capacity • Experience using a student information system and/or database software • Experience moderating web meetings such as Blackboard Collaborate, Webinar, or Webex • Ability to work a flexible schedule • Ability to travel throughout the school year within and between assigned geographic areas, attend meetings, proctor state exams, and participate in school activities and orientations • Must occasionally lift or move up to 15 pounds
