📋 Description

• Define and evangelize a bold technical vision for the domain • Decompose complex problems into practical and operational solutions • Ensure quality of technical design and implementation • Advise on performance, scalability, and operability • Learn and inject advanced technical knowledge into the engineering community • Handle multiple projects simultaneously and maximize impact • Mentor engineers and strengthen technical expertise across engineering and product communities • Modernize monolithic systems into microservice architectures and event-driven platforms • Collaborate with senior engineering and architecture leaders on platform strategy and API standards • Provide hands-on technical contribution while mentoring and elevating peers and junior engineers • Lead cross-divisional projects promoting technological best practices • Create communications, code samples, blog posts, and knowledge-sharing materials • Serve as a trusted advisor for key technologies, platforms, and capability domains

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering) • At least 9 years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture, enterprise architecture and design patterns, cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud), and data architecture • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering • Preferred: 12+ years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture, enterprise architecture and design patterns, web technologies, designing and building distributed HPC and ML systems, cloud computing, and data architecture • Preferred: 12+ years coding in Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala • Preferred: 10+ years with databases and database management systems • Preferred: 12+ years across the full system development lifecycle • Preferred: 10+ years with cloud-based productivity tools or virtualization technologies • Preferred: 12+ years with networking protocols and integration with third-party distributed systems • Preferred: 7+ years mentoring senior engineers and driving professional development • Preferred: 3+ years leading cross-domain architectural reviews or establishing coding and design standards • Expertise in the strategic application of agentic AI coding tools • Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization
