📋 Description

• Act as the first point of contact for customers reaching out to Advocate Aurora through PACT services • Accurately document each interaction using the electronic medical record • Provide wayfinding and resolve customer inquiries • Page providers and front end symptomatic patient calls for nurse triage • Update customer information and demographics • Verify medical records and enter medication refill requests • Schedule, cancel, reschedule, and add patient appointments • Make outbound calls when required or follow-up is necessary • Recognize complex non-clinical problems and escalate them for resolution • Obtain demographic and insurance information and verify insurance coverage • Update financial responsibility, patient information, medical records, databases, logs, and reports • Provide physician/provider referrals • Identify emergent calls and transfer callers to Registered Nurses or appropriate experienced staff for triage or resolution • Route patients for triage, scheduling, rescheduling, cancellation, medication refill evaluation, and provider/facility paging • Provide customer service according to departmental standards • Support organizational marketing efforts through information and referrals • Conduct regular reporting and update provider and marketing databases • Perform faxing, file/database management, and data entry for reports • Maintain knowledge and efficient utilization of departmental information systems

🎯 Requirements

• High School Graduate • Healthcare experience preferred • Call center experience preferred, or experience in another applicable customer service-related area • No licensure, registration, or certification required • Knowledge of customer service and ability to work with varied patients and patient situations • Ability to follow workflows in a structured environment • Basic knowledge of medical terminology helpful but not required • Basic understanding of computers and desktop software packages • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle varied customer/patient needs • Basic multitasking, problem-solving, organization, and prioritization skills • Ability to use and manage a multiple-line telephone system • Demonstrated analysis, logical thinking, accuracy, and attention to detail • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse customer population • Ability to provide excellent customer service and follow up • Ability to converse with customers/patients while researching and documenting calls on multiple systems • Ability to actively listen and determine customer needs • Ability to resolve customer issues • Ability to work a variety of hours based on departmental business needs • Must be available for all four weeks of mandatory training • Ability to work approved remote-worker states only
