📋 Description

• Serve as the first point of contact for internal and external customers contacting Advocate Aurora through PACT services • Provide wayfinding and resolve customer inquiries • Document every interaction accurately in the electronic medical record • Provide general information and page providers and facilities as appropriate • Front-end symptomatic patient calls for nurse triage • Update customer demographics and verify medical records • Enter medication refill requests • Schedule patient appointments and coordinate cancellations, reschedules, and additions • Make outbound calls when required or follow-up is necessary • Recognize complex non-clinical issues and escalate for resolution • Obtain demographic and insurance information, verify coverage, and collect co-pays, deductibles, and previous balances when applicable • Update financial responsibility, patient data, medical records, logs, reports, files, and databases • Provide physician/provider referrals and complete essential forms • Identify emergent calls and transfer them to Registered Nurses or experienced staff for triage or resolution • Route patients for triage, scheduling, rescheduling, cancellation, medication refill evaluation, and provider paging • Deliver customer service according to departmental standards • Support organizational marketing efforts by providing information and referrals and maintaining documentation • Conduct regular reporting and update provider and marketing databases • Enter, gather, organize, and compile data for reports • Maintain knowledge and efficient use of department information systems • Perform additional duties based on department needs

🎯 Requirements

• High School Graduate • Healthcare experience preferred • Call center or other applicable customer service experience preferred • Knowledge of customer service and ability to work with diverse patients and patient situations • Ability to follow workflows in a structured environment • Basic medical terminology knowledge helpful but not required • Basic understanding of computers and desktop software packages • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while handling varied customer/patient needs • Basic multitasking, problem-solving, organization, and prioritization skills • Ability to use and manage a multiple-line telephone system • Demonstrated analysis, logical thinking, accuracy, and attention to detail • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to interact with a diverse customer population • Ability to provide excellent customer service and follow up • Ability to converse with customers/patients while researching and documenting calls on multiple systems • Ability to actively listen and determine customer needs • Ability to resolve customer issues • Ability to work varied hours based on departmental business needs • Functional vision, touch, speech, and hearing • Ability to sit most of the workday • Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job • No licensure, registration, or certification required
