📋 Description

• Build and own a pipeline of transformational prospects capable of $100M+ multi-year commitments • Identify, qualify, and develop prospects while maintaining at least 20 active relationships across cultivation stages • Build relationships within effective altruism, cost-efficiency, technology philanthropy, foundation, family office, and advisor networks • Partner with Global Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy teams to identify pipeline synergies, especially in AI and technology • Run a disciplined prospect pipeline and prioritize opportunities against Campaign 2033 needs • Design and lead tailored, compelling donor pitches and asks • Translate IRC's programmatic work into language focused on systems change, measurable outcomes, scalable delivery, and evidence • Convene IRC leaders and program staff for high-value donor engagement • Improve donor-facing narratives and package Impact at Scale offerings • Work with program colleagues to provide compelling and transparent impact tracking • Develop IRC's long-term model for transformational giving with the COO and philanthropy leadership • Help shape Campaign 2033's multi-year fundraising strategy • Serve as a senior thought partner on External Relations leadership strategy • Represent IRC in external forums, networks, and events • Lead, mentor, and develop the global Foundations & Trusts team • Shape Foundations & Trusts strategy, deepen institutional engagement, grow revenue, and strengthen foundation relationships

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required • 15 or more years of relevant experience in major gift fundraising, strategic relationship development, investment, or a closely adjacent field where closing large, complex partnerships was central • Demonstrated track record of closing private transformational gifts or partnerships at the $50M+ level • Deep knowledge of top philanthropic ecosystems, including AI and technology founders, emerging foundations, family offices, and giving advisors • Strong strategic and narrative thinking; ability to build ambitious, evidence-grounded donor-facing arguments • Disciplined pipeline management and sound judgment • Strong collaborative instincts and organizational intelligence • Comfort with ambiguity and long cultivation timelines • Genuine conviction about IRC's mission • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting and influencing at board, CEO, and major donor level • Preferred: existing network among philanthropists, technology-sector foundations, or first-generation family offices, particularly on the US West Coast • Preferred: familiarity with effective altruism-aligned philanthropic networks, major EA foundations, key advisors, and evidence-based giving frameworks • Preferred: experience at the intersection of humanitarian or development programming and private philanthropy, or ability to quickly learn IRC's programmatic work • Preferred: experience working alongside a prominent institutional leader in donor engagement • Preferred: MBA, Master's degree, or equivalent in a relevant field • Must live in the Bay Area, LA area, or Greater Seattle Area
