• Serve as the statistical expert for quality and performance evaluation, study designs, and analytical methodology • Support the Senior Director, Quality Analytics, with qualitative and quantitative assessments and continuous improvement tools • Gather internal data from various sources for quality evaluation and improvement • Develop quality analysis plans and implement analyses and statistical tests with the Senior Director and market business owners • Design and apply statistical models to predict HEDIS rates and STAR ratings • Assist with quality and compliance reports by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting relevant data • Use statistical techniques, graphics, and data to summarize HEDIS analytical needs and measure impact • Identify and evaluate quality-related evidence and publications to support population health and quality initiatives • Develop focus studies using epidemiological methodology to target populations for interventions • Collect and review internal and external epidemiological data to support RFPs • Design case-control, cohort, and other epidemiological studies • Communicate exploratory and predictive analysis findings to administrative and business leaders • Recommend clear, creative, and compelling visual displays of information • Perform other job-related instructions as requested
• Master's degree in statistics, public health, biostatistics or related field is required • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in program evaluation is required • Experience in epidemiological study design and statistical analysis is required • Previous experience in SAS and SQL is required • Previous HEDIS and health care quality management experience is preferred • Experience in healthcare or managed care is preferred • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Access and advanced proficiency in Excel is required • Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies including Model for Improvement, Lean, and Six Sigma • Familiarity with descriptive statistical applications and techniques • Knowledge of statistical modeling and testing • Knowledge of managed care and health care data coding is preferred • Graphic development and presentation skills • Critical listening, thinking, verbal, and written communication skills • Problem-solving skills • Excellent writing skills • General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
