📋 Description

• Provide leadership and technical expertise within the coding service line • Perform essential certified coder job functions • Serve as an expert coder within the assigned coding service line • Act as a role model and support department management initiatives • Assist with leadership activities when the coordinator or supervisor is absent • Assist with orientation and training of new and existing coding staff • Perform routine peer review according to documented standards • Conduct staff meetings and collaborate on departmental, enterprise-wide and external initiatives • Assist employees with work-related matters • Conduct regular staff rounding and complete reports for supervisor or manager meetings • Prepare and follow annual budgets with leadership • Interpret and analyze financial data to monitor performance and establish departmental benchmarks • Act as a resource and mentor to others • Create, update and maintain department policies and procedures

🎯 Requirements

• Radiology, CPT and ICD-10 knowledge • Certification as Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-Based (CCS-P), Certified Professional Coder - Hospital (CPCH), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) within 2 years • Coding work experience • Ability to perform certified coder duties • Ability to conduct peer audits and routine peer reviews • Ability to mentor and train coding staff • Ability to interpret and analyze financial data • Ability to create, update and maintain department policies and procedures
