📋 Description

• Perform financial reconciliation on liquidated loans after GSE or Government Mortgage Insured expense claims are paid • Identify recovery and bill-back opportunities to mitigate losses for Carrington Mortgage Services and its clients • Research incurred losses to determine responsibility and root causes of avoidable losses • Communicate loss analysis findings to external investors and support investor rebuttals • Maintain updates in LoanServ and enter assigned and completed tasks when actions occur • Respond to and correct Quality Review findings within 24 hours • Provide detailed written explanations for decisioned losses and financial disputes • Review and procure additional support for rebutted responses from external partners and investors • Analyze data elements, apply decision rationale, and attach evidentiary support to accurate written summaries • Complete ad hoc loss analysis • Stay current on GSE and Government Mortgage Insured guidelines, industry standards, and client expectations • Complete projects and tasks on time and renegotiate deadlines before they are missed • Improve processes to reduce costs and eliminate unnecessary manual activities • Inform Team Lead and Supervisor about trends and problems, including claim denials, curtailments, and payment offsets • Perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma required • Associate/Bachelor Degree in accounting or another related field preferred • Two (2) or more years’ mortgage servicing experience in one or more default-related areas, such as Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, Default MI Claims, Loss Mitigation, Recovery, etc. • Previous FHA, VA, USDA, and PMI claims experience preferred • Strong working knowledge of Default Servicing processes through Loss Mitigation, Bankruptcy, Foreclosure, Conveyance, and Claims • Knowledge of mortgage servicing state, federal, and agency guidelines and timelines • Strong financial and loss analysis background • Ability to complete financial reconciliations • Strong accounting background • Moderate computer skills with MS Word and Excel • Robust attention to detail and excellent time management and organizational skills • Exceptional writing skills, including punctuation, grammar, organization, and formatting • Ability to substantiate facts and properly document them • Ability to work effectively with staff, management, investors/insurers, and third parties • Ability to make decisions with moderate impact to the immediate work unit • Ability to identify urgent matters and escalate them appropriately • Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and changing priorities
