📋 Description

• Manage and maintain all production and non-production databases • Monitor database health, capacity, and performance, taking corrective action as needed • Ensure database environments are stable, secure, and aligned with client IT standards • Maintain standards and design for physical data storage, maintenance, access, and security administration • Define and enforce data access, user permission, and security-role policies • Implement security controls and best practices to protect data integrity and confidentiality • Perform database backup and recovery • Configure database parameters and prototype designs against logical data models • Define data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and warehousing requirements • Optimize database access and allocate or re-allocate database resources for performance and cost efficiency • Analyze performance metrics and query execution plans, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning strategies • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams on end-to-end performance objectives • Produce documentation and reports required by client IT policies and procedures • Report to the Program Manager

🎯 Requirements

• Experience serving as an ADABAS Database Administrator and working with Software AG products in a mainframe environment • At least three years of experience with database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and administration in a multi-platform environment • Experience managing and maintaining production and non-production databases • Experience performing database backup and recovery, configuring database parameters, and prototyping designs against logical data models • Experience defining data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and warehousing requirements • Experience optimizing database access and allocating or re-allocating database resources for optimal configuration, performance, and cost efficiency • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience • Must be able to pass a background check • May require additional project- or client-specific background checks during employment • Problem-solving skills • Exceptional oral and written communication skills • High proficiency in spoken and written English • Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency • Proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Acrobat • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Must be a self-starter • Experience with DB2 preferred
