• Guide and assist College of Adult and Graduate Studies students toward successful degree completion and educational goals • Provide quality, Christ-centered advising to enhance academics, spiritual growth, and engagement with the world • Answer student questions by phone, email, and in-person advising appointments, depending on student location • Document advising details in student records • Advise on course registration, financial aid, academic progress, transfer credits, life/school balance, student resources, faculty concerns, and other needs • Initiate outbound calls to assess early-intervention needs and build advisor/advisee relationships • Identify obstacles to course completion or registration and challenge students toward continuation and academic excellence • Analyze, organize, and update reports, spreadsheets, and templates • Maintain data integrity, efficient student communication, and retention trend reporting • Interpret and analyze student data to proactively contact students and achieve monthly retention goals • Partner with other departments to facilitate and process time-sensitive student requests • Prepare and plan for future blocks and semesters • Collaborate with colleagues on special projects • Attend team meetings, training webinars, and conference calls • Perform other duties as assigned
• High technology proficiency • Fluency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook • Confidence with a high level of inbound/outbound calls • Ability to articulate clearly and persuasively yet professionally with students • Self-confidence, patience, empathy, and availability when building rapport with students • Ability to understand and adapt quickly to multi-generational needs and characteristics • Creative, out-of-the-box thinking and initiative to find solutions while clarifying and enforcing CCU’s expectations and policies • Flexibility, a teachable spirit, and openness to change • Ability to proactively locate appropriate resources for unfamiliar situations • Ability to recognize and learn from mistakes • Ability to maintain cohesive working relationships and operate with honesty and respect • Ability to work in a high-energy call center-type environment and manage distractions professionally • Previous advising, student service, higher education, public relations, customer service, or similar experience preferred • Bachelor’s degree preferred • Bilingual speaking and writing proficiency in Spanish/English preferred • Committed follower of Jesus Christ with personal relationship and faith consistent with CCU’s evangelical mission • Ability to communicate personal faith and apply biblical principles in the workplace • Strong sense of calling to the ministry of Colorado Christian University • Regular meaningful involvement in a Bible-believing evangelical local church • Knowledge of the Word of God and passion for Christian education • Traditional evangelical Christian lifestyle compatible with CCU’s Statement of Faith and Strategic Priorities • Must reside and work legally in the United States
