Center for Nutrition & Health Impact is an independent non-profit research center specializing in rigorous measurement, evaluation, and technical assistance for nutrition-related programs and policies. CNHI develops and validates low-burden food insecurity and nutrition-security measures, leads national evaluations (including USDA-selected evaluations of nutrition incentive and produce prescription programs), and conducts applied research on Food is Medicine initiatives, WIC-related projects, medically tailored meals, and related public health nutrition efforts. The center provides evaluation, capacity building, and policy research to strengthen public health nutrition programs and partners with federal agencies and philanthropic funders.

📋 Description

• Lead and/or provide oversight for all scientific aspects of research and evaluation projects • Generate new projects by developing and submitting grant applications and RFP proposals • Initiate and maintain relationships with partners, funders, and clients • Develop project workplans covering research designs, participants, data elements, measurement tools, and deliverables • Review comprehensive project plans for alignment with workplans • Oversee measurement tool development, including planning, review, and final sign-off • Ensure the integrity of sampling and data collection efforts • Conduct key informant interviews or focus groups when needed • Conduct data analyses and review qualitative and quantitative outputs for accuracy • Oversee project deliverables, including planning, outlining, and draft review • Provide guidance and feedback to team members on project plans, measurement tools, data analysis, and deliverables • Develop, submit, and deliver conference presentations • Publish scientific manuscripts • Maintain working knowledge of significant developments and trends in nutrition-related fields • Participate in Scientific Advisory Committee meetings, Scientist Retreats, and other appropriate meetings • Serve in a supervisory role as assigned • Perform other assigned tasks

🎯 Requirements

• Doctoral degree in nutrition, public health, or a similar health-related field (preferred qualification) • Completion of a postdoctoral fellowship and at or above the comparable level of Assistant Professor; preferably focused on behavioral nutrition or public health • Skilled in program evaluation and experience evaluating nutrition-related programs • Experience collaborating and communicating with clients and funders • Proficient in quantitative and qualitative research methods and data analysis • Experience leading projects or people • Strong written and verbal communication skills • History of scientific presentations and peer-reviewed publications • Proficient in SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics, NVivo, SPSS, and SAS • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Proficient in virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom • Maintain a productive, comfortable, and distraction-free remote work environment • Comply with the CNHI work schedule • Follow care and security standards for CNHI-issued equipment • Supply your own Internet connection suitable for video conferencing • Able to perform required physical tasks, including standing, sitting, talking, hearing, computer and telephone keyboard use, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and light to moderate lifting • Please mention any foreign language skills in application materials
