📋 Description

• Receive and respond to incoming calls from referral sources or potential patients • Exchange information to identify patient needs and determine whether services can meet them • Record call outcomes manually or through automated systems • Make follow-up calls and identify alternative community service resources • Perform initial telephone screening to determine patient appropriateness for home care services • Advise branch staff of patient acceptance and provide information for a smooth transition to home care • Contact referral sources regarding referral status • Provide relevant information to the clinical team delivering requested services • Identify payer sources, verify benefits, negotiate rates, and obtain authorizations and visit frequencies • Establish primary payers and document conversations with payer sources • Access national or regional account information and communicate contract details to branch and intake staff • Work with intake team, branch staff, and patients to resolve payer source problems • Monitor referral source satisfaction and communicate customer service issues to intake and branch staff • Report directly to the Intake Supervisor

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent • Typing speed of 40 words per minute or higher • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams • 3 or more years in health care delivery or related business experience preferred • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred • Knowledge of insurance reimbursement process preferred • Data entry experience preferred • Availability Monday-Friday between 1pm-7pm EST • Occasional weekend coverage required • Ability to train outside advertised hours • Availability to work 2 holidays per year, with additional holiday coverage as needed • Minimum internet speed of 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload for home work • Dedicated workspace without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information • Florida-based applicants are subject to Florida Level 2 background screening through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
