📋 Description

• Build and lead a team of Analytics Engineers and Data Engineers, setting technical standards across both disciplines • Rapidly scale the organization to 6–8 engineers within a year and establish clear career ladders • Cultivate engineering rigor through code review, automated testing, and continuous delivery • Own the architecture and strategy for data ingestion, warehouse modeling, and the analytics engineering layer, including dbt, semantic layer, and marts • Design and enforce data governance and security frameworks, including RBAC, PII/PHI handling, masking, and tokenization • Conduct code and architecture reviews, unblock technical bottlenecks, and address critical platform issues • Ensure internal stakeholder groups receive appropriate tooling and access models • Serve as product manager for data-related production systems and core infrastructure • Translate internal partner requirements into a unified, actionable roadmap • Define frameworks for decentralized internal applications and rapidly prototyped tools built on Cherry’s data surfaces

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years in data engineering and/or analytics engineering • Direct people management experience • Ability to attract, hire, and rapidly scale engineering talent while maintaining a high technical bar • Track record owning end-to-end data platform architecture from ingestion through consumption • Experience as product owner or liaison for technical platform tools • Experience balancing business feature requests with technical debt and reliability • Background in a regulated industry such as FinTech, Healthcare, or Insurtech strongly preferred • Deep expertise in cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake • Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow • Experience with ingestion tooling such as Fivetran • Mastery of dbt and analytics engineering practices, including data modeling, semantic layer design, testing, and documentation • Practical experience designing RBAC frameworks, PII/PHI tokenization, masking, and automated access control systems • Experience coaching across distinct technical role types and building senior/lead layers • Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs and governance requirements to technical and non-technical executive stakeholders • Strong prioritization when governance, reliability, and business feature requests compete for roadmap capacity • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; application asks whether visa sponsorship is required
