📋 Description

• Oversee and scale all aspects of the company’s accounting and tax operations and strategy • Build and scale financial systems, processes, and policies supporting financial health and efficient business scaling • Oversee the monthly close process, annual audits, financial reporting, and overall control processes • Generate confidence in financial reports and processes for team members, the Board of Directors, third-party partners, regulators, and prospective investors • Oversee the in-house accounting team and external consultants • Manage the accounting function, including GL, AP, technical and revenue accounting, financial reporting, payroll, equity, tax, and treasury • Partner with leaders across business units and functional teams including Strategic Finance, People, Engineering, and Legal • Support the CFO and executives on M&A, fundraising, secondary transactions, and potentially a future IPO • Report directly to the CFO

🎯 Requirements

• 12+ years of experience • 3+ years at a top-tier audit firm • 8+ years in-house accounting at fast-growing startups • Experience culminating in a controller or assistant controller role • Experience building and retaining an accounting team of meaningful scale and complexity, including managers and individual contributors • Experience designing and managing full-cycle accounting close and operations • Experience managing tax, treasury, payroll, and equity administration • Experience leading accounting teams through multiple clean audits with Big Four firms • Knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606, ASC 718, ASC 805, and ASC 350 • Experience documenting accounting conclusions, establishing business processes, and defending accounting positions to external auditors • Experience scaling finance operations through major process or systems overhauls, including AI-powered workflows • Experience overseeing global indirect tax compliance, including US sales tax and international VAT/GST • Leadership, talent development, and ownership-building experience • Cross-functional financial systems and process implementation experience • Strategic mindset and ability to communicate accounting decisions effectively • Experience with a public tech company in a lead-level accounting role is a bonus • Experience with emerging AI-native finance tooling, such as Rillet, is a bonus • Experience with complex businesses and multiple revenue models is a bonus • Experience with business combination accounting and integrations is a bonus • Active CPA license is a bonus
