📋 Description
• Coordinate activities related to the receipt of organ offers for transplant • Evaluate organ offers for suitability • Arrange procurement of organs and transplant set-ups • Comply with OPTN/UNOS requirements for post-transplant documentation • Serve as the contact for potential offers from procurement organizations • Organize the procurement and dispatch team • Coordinate transportation of organs • Assist in training organ preservation caregivers • Develop and present professional education programs • Obtain, analyze, and report data on potential donors • Attend selection committee meetings • Enter data into the transplant database • Other duties as assigned
🎯 Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in a science-related field OR a degree/diploma from an accredited Nursing School, Respiratory Therapy Program or Paramedic Program • One year of experience as an organ procurement coordinator OR clinical experience in critical care or in the field of organ procurement/transplant • Maintain valid licenses and required certificates (Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist or Emergency Medical Technician – Paramedic) • Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) by the American Board for Transplant Certification (ABTC) is preferred • Previous transplant or organ procurement experience • Related healthcare experience • UNOS/UNET experience and knowledge
