📋 Description

• Counsel patients and parties responsible for payment regarding payment responsibilities and options • Counsel patients regarding insurance benefits and recommend alternative sources of payment and financial assistance • Explain financial responsibilities, payment options, and collection procedures • Contact insurance carriers or other sources and act as a patient advocate • Initiate collection of prepayments and perform follow-up to maximize collection • Identify and resolve issues related to registration, financial clearance, insurance authorization, billing, explanation of benefits, provider-based billing, governmental requirements, HCAP/FAP policies, MyAccount, and collections • Update and correctly document information in the appropriate computer system • Prepare estimated costs of services and request deposits for half of the estimated cost • Discuss eligibility for government or Cleveland Clinic Financial Assistance Programs

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED and three years of experience in a customer facing role with in-person or phone contact OR Associate’s Degree and two years of experience OR Bachelor’s Degree and one year of experience • Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment • Ability to work with minimal supervision • Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action • Candidates must reside in Ohio and within approximately two hours of a Cleveland Clinic location • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods • Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
