• Perform long-term monitoring of adult and pediatric patients using closed-circuit and digital audio/visual equipment and electrophysiological recording instruments • Present patient history and evolution, EEG and video data, and radiologic studies in daily patient rounds for staff physicians • Describe current seizures and frequency • List current medications and results of previous investigations • Describe examination made during admission to monitoring units • Map, classify, and form an impression of ictal and interictal EEG/video data • Write final reports and detailed descriptions of EEG patterns, seizure semiology, radiologic findings, mapping of ictal and interictal abnormalities, and selection of representative EEG samples • Serve as an instructor for new personnel being trained to perform testing and care for long-term monitoring patients • Work the 3:00pm–11:00pm shift every third weekend
• High School or GED • Registered EEG Technologist (R.EEG.T) • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification • Two years of recent technical experience in epilepsy long term monitoring, routine EEG lab with exposure to long term monitoring on Bedside Monitoring systems, or any combination of such experience • Tech/computer experience preferred • Manual dexterity to place electrodes precisely and operate recording equipment • Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients, pushing beds, carts and wheelchairs • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds • Possible exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids • Must follow standard precautions and use personal protective equipment as required • Must comply with annual influenza vaccination program or obtain an approved exemption • Offers of employment are followed by controlled-substance testing
