📋 Description

• Manage litigation workstreams relating to independent contractor classification, unemployment insurance claims, and disputes with marketplace users • Manage litigation workstreams involving professional negligence and data privacy • Partner with internal and outside counsel on high-stakes litigation matters • Draft responsive pleadings, briefs, and other important legal documents • Develop and participate in the company’s eDiscovery strategy, including custodial document collection, review, and production • Manage the company’s third-party subpoena response strategy • Provide legal guidance to product, operations, and other cross-functional teams • Support additional legal workstreams based on team and company needs • Build internal legal processes and systems • Lead high-stakes matters, coordinate with counsel and stakeholders, and contribute to legal strategy

🎯 Requirements

• JD with at least 5 years of experience • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state; current admission to the bar • Bias toward action and solving problems • Ability to take ownership of work and manage projects independently • Excellent communication and writing abilities • Comfort and skill navigating complexity and ambiguity on a leanly staffed team • Willingness to quickly dive into new and unfamiliar legal issues • Ability to work under pressure and autonomously and meet tight deadlines • Agility and flexibility to take on new tasks and responsibilities in a fast-moving, rapidly scaling technology company • Willingness and ability to engage with and interpret data, especially from unfamiliar sources • Experience handling arbitrations and class actions (nice to have) • Experience with eDiscovery, including large-scale custodial data collection, review, and production (nice to have) • Clerkship experience (nice to have) • Government experience (nice to have) • Experience working cross-culturally and with diverse, global teams (nice to have)
