📋 Description

• Perform inpatient coding audits and review services for client sites remotely from a home office • Work with clients on coding audit and/or review services for a variety of inpatient facility record types • Identify trends from coding audit and review findings and formulate recommendations for corrective action plans • Perform research, including online searches and retrieving CMS transmittals and program memorandums, to support findings • Provide in-service education to clients on identified coding trends • Assist in designing and presenting educational seminars to clients and staff • Collaborate with the HIM Consulting Division on senior-level projects, including ICD-10 assessment and analysis, audit-process tools, staff education, applicant coding test materials, and coding-advice articles for clients

🎯 Requirements

• RHIA, RHIT or CCS certification • 2-5 years’ minimum experience performing inpatient facility audits and reviews in addition to previous coding experience • Initiative to perform research to maintain a high level of knowledge and skill • Ability to remain impartial and objective in finalizing and presenting audit findings • Willingness to take ownership of responsibilities and deadlines • Strong computer skills, including the ability to utilize UASI audit software • Ability to transfer files securely in compliance with HIPAA policies • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to communicate confidently on site and via webinar/conference calls
