📋 Description

• Conduct analysis and deep dives on ambiguous business problems • Produce insights and recommendations that guide team decision-making • Build, tune, or measure online and offline machine learning models and AI systems used across Coinbase • Own a broad scope of data and metrics, including definitions, core logging, and data visualization presentation • Guide code reviews and provide SQL and Python expertise • Create well-maintained ETL jobs • Maintain statistical rigor across the team • Design, execute, and improve experimentation and causal analyses • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Design to influence the roadmap and understand users

🎯 Requirements

• BA/BS in a quantitative field (e.g., Math, Statistics, Physics, or Computer Science) with ≥5+ years of relevant experience, or a PhD in a quantitative field with ≥3+ years of relevant experience • Demonstrated experience driving impactful data science projects addressing ambiguous problem spaces • Ability to influence external stakeholders by synthesizing data learnings into compelling stories • Practical expertise applying complex modeling frameworks to practical business problems • Professional experience using SQL and Python • Experience working with digital products in an iterative development cycle • Clear communication, positive energy, continuous learning, and efficient execution • Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight to deliver business-ready analytical outputs and models
