📋 Description

• Travel to customer locations to perform scheduled inspections of Columbia Industries equipment. • Complete inspections using established company guidelines, checklists, and forms. • Visually and functionally inspect mechanical, hydraulic, structural, electrical, wear, and safety-related components. • Identify and accurately document worn, damaged, leaking, loose, missing, or deteriorating components. • Apply Red, Yellow, and Green condition classifications consistently and objectively. • Capture photographs, measurements, notes, and supporting information for inspection findings. • Escalate conditions outside the inspection scope to Field Service or Engineering. • Complete thorough, accurate inspection reports promptly after customer visits. • Associate photographs and written findings with the applicable equipment component or inspection item. • Submit reports within established turnaround expectations and maintain organized inspection records. • Represent Columbia Industries professionally at customer facilities and coordinate equipment access with customer contacts. • Communicate factual observations without overstating findings or making unsupported commitments. • Direct pricing, parts availability, repair proposals, and commercial discussions to Aftermarket or Sales. • Communicate urgent Red findings and recurring equipment concerns to Aftermarket, Quality, Engineering, or Field Service. • Travel domestically and internationally as required, including overnight stays, extended trips, air travel, and rental vehicles. • Occasionally travel to Columbia Industries' Starkville, Mississippi headquarters for training, meetings, or equipment familiarization.

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required. • 3+ years of experience as an industrial mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, maintenance technician, field service technician, or similar hands-on mechanical role. • Working knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems and ability to recognize common wear, damage, leakage, and component deterioration. • Ability to follow detailed inspection procedures and complete repetitive inspection tasks consistently. • Ability to read equipment documentation, component identification, and basic mechanical or hydraulic information as required. • Basic computer and tablet proficiency for completing reports, taking photographs, and submitting field documentation. • Professional communication skills sufficient to interact effectively with customer personnel. • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company travel requirements. • Technical school, industrial maintenance, diesel, heavy equipment, or mechanical training preferred. • Experience with heavy industrial equipment, hydraulic power units, cylinders, structural components, bearings, pins, hoses, fittings, and related wear components preferred. • Previous equipment inspection, preventive maintenance, or condition assessment experience preferred. • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification preferred. • Microsoft Office proficiency and experience completing electronic field reports preferred. • Ability to lift and carry inspection tools or equipment up to 35 pounds. • Ability to work in industrial and outdoor environments, including exposure to heavy equipment, moving machinery, noise, dirt, dust, and weather. • Ability to use appropriate personal protective equipment and comply with customer-specific safety requirements.
