📋 Description

• Lead the preparation of detailed, accurate bids, proposals, and takeoffs for complex and high-value projects • Review junior estimators’ work to ensure accuracy and consistency • Develop estimating strategies aligned with company profitability goals and competitive positioning • Partner with Sales and Operations to evaluate scope, schedule, and budget requirements • Participate in bid review and strategy meetings with leadership • Lead complete handoffs of awarded projects to Operations • Maintain and expand relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors • Source new vendors and negotiate favorable pricing • Monitor material pricing trends and labor market conditions • Ensure estimates comply with company standards, safety regulations, and contractual requirements • Maintain and update estimating tools, cost databases, and pricing libraries • Identify and implement process improvements • Provide value engineering options and accurate estimates to Sales and Operations • Participate in pre-bid and post-bid meetings • Support Operations with complete submittal packages and project handoff questions • Follow up on submitted bids to help improve future estimating strategies • Mentor and guide Estimators and Jr. Estimators • May lead small estimating teams or serve as lead estimator on large, complex bids

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in construction (fencing or related trades preferred) • Advanced ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications • Proficiency with on-screen takeoff software (Stack preferred), CAD software, and Microsoft Excel • Strong financial and analytical skills with expertise in cost modeling and market pricing • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Proven ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously with high accuracy • Must maintain regular attendance, exhibit professional conduct, and positively represent the company with customers and vendors • Commitment to continuous learning, personal development, and mentoring others
