Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with the School Leader and Manager of Counseling Services to support at-risk students in grades 9-12. • Assist students and parents in understanding and meeting graduation requirements, course selection, scheduling, and crisis intervention. • Provide direction to staff and support teachers in an alternative learning environment. • Ensure robust systems of accountability are in place for student indicators such as assignment submission, platform activity, and progress toward pacing targets. • Conduct attendance and participation tracking in accordance with state-specific requirements. • Build micro communities within the school to foster belonging and connection. • Conduct individualized student check-ins regularly to assess academic, behavioral, and social progress. • Uphold a structured, supportive environment that encourages student success, retention, and readiness for life after graduation.

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of previous counseling experience at an accredited public or private school; previous leadership roles preferred • South Carolina School Counseling Credential required • Master’s degree in Counseling, Educational Leadership or related fields • Technologically proficient (especially with Microsoft Office and Google Suite products) • PowerSchool and/or Edmentum experience preferred • Excellent leadership and communication skills • Must be able to use a personal electronic device for two-step authentication and communication. • Customer focused approach • High degree of flexibility • Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment • Team player track record
