Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Develop school-based family engagement systems and activities • Support families, teachers, and the community to assist students in achieving academic excellence • Provide support for “Club Orange”, the caretaker program • Engage students and families in increasing their involvement and commitment to the school • Improve parents’ levels of trust and support for their school • Enhance families’ capacity to support their children’s learning • Work with staff, families, and community organizations to create a welcoming school environment • Coordinate new parent contacts, orientations, and trainings • Assist with student truancy and engagement issues • Lead the development and implementation of the school's overall family engagement action plan • Establish and maintain consistent communication with families • Serve as a mediator to resolve issues at the school level

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience • Approximately 30% travel required • Experience working with diverse communities • Excellent interpersonal skills • Excellent organizational skills • Demonstrated ability to manage time well • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Experience in developing and/or leading workshops and trainings • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends • Michigan Residency Preferred • Bilingual capacity • Conflict resolution, mediation and/or negotiation skills • Experience in virtual school setting • Experience with school or community services coordination
