Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Virtually manage instructional programs from home • Consult regularly with learning coaches and students to ensure successful completion of instructional programs • Complete all grading, create progress reports, and conduct parent conferences • Review curriculum and devise alternative approaches to presenting lessons • Communicate regularly with parents, students, and other teachers • Work collaboratively with other teachers • Develop a general knowledge of the entire program’s K-12 curriculum • Support students and parents with alternate strategies • Maintain up-to-date student records and contacts • Organize and coordinate regional field trips and community activities • Participate in organization and administration of State Testing • Attend field trips and other community activities • Perform other duties as assigned.

🎯 Requirements

• Highly qualified and certified to teach High School ELA in New Mexico • Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft OS, MS Office programs, and Google Suite) • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written • Customer focused approach • High degree of flexibility • Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment • Team player track record • Willingness to travel on occasion for marketing and state testing events (may require occasional overnight travel) • Ability to work remotely • Ability to work some occasional evening hours, as needed to support some families • Must be able to use a personal electronic device and an email address for two-step authentication.
