Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Provide asynchronous and synchronous instruction in whole-group, small-group, and one-to-one settings • Complete grading, lesson preparation, and student and parent communications promptly • Collaborate with teachers through PLCs to develop and update Personal Learning Plans, score assessments, provide feedback, and refine instructional approaches • Develop detailed knowledge of assigned courses and general knowledge of the K-12 curriculum • Review curriculum and devise alternate approaches to improve student understanding • Support students and parents with alternate strategies, daily assignments, and projects • Communicate regularly with parents and students through the Learning Management System and telephone • Maintain current student records and data, including cumulative files, online information, attendance, and contacts • Consult with teachers, school staff, and leadership to develop enrichment activities and program modifications • Work with Engagement and Counseling Departments to support timely communications, student progress, and goal attainment • Support Individualized Education Plans for assigned courses • Create and maintain a cyber-based school community • Coordinate social activities and relevant field trips; integrate trips into the curriculum and attend activities • Participate in organizing and administering state assessments and school events • Participate in student recruiting sessions and marketing efforts • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Highly qualified and certified to teach Middle School and/or High School in Pennsylvania • Endorsements in EL or multiple subject areas a plus • Pennsylvania residency • Experience teaching in a cyber learning environment a plus • Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft Office products and Google Suite • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Highly organized and punctual • Student-centric • High degree of flexibility and agility • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment • Evidenced team player track record • Willingness to travel for state testing, school and marketing events, potentially including overnight travel • Ability to work occasional evening hours as needed to support students and families • Ability to effectively work remotely • 2-step authentication required to set up login to all systems if offered the job
