Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Virtually manage instructional programs for students with special needs • Consult regularly with learning coaches and students using telephone, Internet, and curriculum tools • Participate in all steps of the IEP process • Work with teachers and district professionals to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations • Manage and provide instructional guidance, virtual teaching, and general strategies for a caseload of students • Develop, write, and help implement IEPs and 504 plans • Evaluate tests and assessments, complete report cards, and conduct parent conferences • Communicate with parents and learning coaches to ensure IEP goals are met • Coordinate specially designed instruction and address learning issues • Provide direct student services through web-conferencing software as needed • Organize and conduct virtual IEP-related meetings • Participate in the Student Support Team • Help develop and implement program modifications and strategies • Maintain IEP paperwork, documentation, and procedures • Locate and coordinate service providers and assist with service-provider contracts • Maintain accurate data in the Learning Management System and special education software • Assist with state testing and coordinate IEP-required special adaptations • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in Special Education or related Education Field • Valid South Carolina Special Education certification • Additional certification in a core content area preferred • Experience in policy (IDEA) and/or administration with Special Education • Strong technology skills, especially with Microsoft Office products • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Customer-focused approach • High degree of flexibility • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment • Team-player track record • Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing and state testing events • 2-step authentication required to log in to all systems if given a job offer
