📋 Description

• Lead the planning, administration, security, and improvement of NC Connections’ state testing program. • Collaborate with school leadership, teachers, staff, students, and caretakers. • Coordinate and create all school testing plans as required by NCDPI ensuring adherence to state timelines, policies, confidentiality requirements, and ethical testing codes of conduct. • Attend all state and school required test training sessions and meetings (both in-person and virtual). • Train all school staff on test security, ethical testing practices, testing procedures, and accommodations for students with disabilities (as well as English learners). • Monitor and assist with the review, coordination, documentation, and submission of all testing accommodations in North Carolina state systems. • Create and maintain individual testing plans for each separate testing window. • Work with NCDPI to order appropriate testing materials for each test administration. • Coordinate proctors, site-based testing coordinators, venues, technology needs, and staff travel related to all aspects of in-person testing. • Develop testing schedules, student assignments, small groups, and staff assignments ensuring test security and fidelity. • Maintain systems for student testing assignments, confirmations, participation, and attendance tracking. • Coordinate and assist with the notification of students and caretakers regarding schedules, locations, and testing expectations. • Ensure all testing materials are stored and maintained securely and appropriately in accordance with state rules and regulations. • Report testing irregularities and security incidents through OTISS or other designated systems within required timelines. • Maintain the confidentiality of student assessment results and ensure scores are used appropriately. • Coordinate benchmark testing participation approximately three times per school year. • Analyze state testing, benchmark, and other student-performance data to identify areas for improvement. • Work with teachers and school leaders to develop instructional strategies, interventions, and training designed to improve student outcomes. • Assist with preparing and distributing reports related to test performance, school and student characteristics, School Report Card data, and other accountability measures. • Collaborate to develop test prep courses or programs and serve as a Teacher of Record for assigned test preparation courses (i.e. ACT Prep, EOG prep). • Serve as a homeroom teacher for high-risk and/or credit-deficient high school students. • Supervise and manage assigned instructional staff according to school policy and procedures. • Participate in professional development and contribute to schoolwide initiatives. • Support school meetings, training, graduation, field trips, test preparation, and testing events. • Assist with preparation and dissemination of reports to assist leadership and staff in the interpretation of performance data and school/student characteristics. • Collaborate on and contribute to school improvement planning process and monitoring. • Complete any and all grading, lesson preparation, student and learning coach communications within specified and required timeframes for any assigned course or task. • Adhere to and support Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and Section 504 Plans for students in assigned courses. • Engage in professional development and professional learning communities. • Collaborate and support successful implementation of schoolwide attendance and truancy tracking and initiatives. • Develop methods & activities for fostering & maintaining a virtual “school community.” • Work collaboratively with school staff daily through online meeting and communication tools and school LMS (i.e. Pearson Online Classroom, Google Chat, Gmail, Google Meet, Zoom, etc.). • Communicate regularly with learning coaches and students through use of computer and telephone (i.e. Google Voice, POC Webmail, LiveLesson, Zoom, etc.). • Keep student records and data up-to-date, including Data Views, cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance accounting, and logging all student and learning coach contacts. • Serve as the State Testing Coordinator for the North Carolina Connections Academy Public School Unit. • Attend field trips and other community activities implemented for students and families. • Other duties as assigned.

🎯 Requirements

• Valid North Carolina Teaching License (administrative license and/or degree preferred). • North Carolina residency preferred. • Strong organizational, logistical, and problem-solving skills. • Proven track record of successful support of state testing administration in a virtual environment. • Ability to learn, effectively use, and navigate state testing, assessment, and student information and reporting systems. • A valid driver’s license or state-issued identification card. • Availability to work full-time teacher shift from 8am - 4pm, Monday through Friday. • Strong interpersonal skills which include the ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds. • Strong technology skills (especially in Google Suite). • Virtual experience preferred. • Demonstrated ability to create a positive, equitable, and student-centered environment. • Customer focused approach. • High degree of flexibility. • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. • Willingness and ability to travel for school-based meetings, training, graduation, field trips, and state testing events (will require overnight travel). • Ability to work some occasional evening hours, as needed to support some families.
