The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Virtually support the learning program for students in Connections Academy schools across the country • Consult regularly with students, Learning Coaches, parents, and school personnel • Participate in all applicable steps of the IEP process, from analyzing data through delivering and monitoring IEPs • Work with teachers and school professionals to ensure the special education program operates successfully and complies with federal and state regulations • Deliver virtual small-group or individual instruction through the LiveLesson online classroom • Act as teacher of record during short- or long-term absences or vacancies, typically 2–20 weeks, with average assignments lasting 8–12 weeks • Communicate with parents, students, and teachers to develop and update individualized learning plans and schedules • Provide feedback on student work, suggest instructional strategies, monitor assignments, and verify learning • Complete grading, generate progress reports, and conduct parent conferences • Support synchronous and asynchronous web conferencing sessions • Collaborate with teacher teams to support student progress through the program • Case manage students, write and deliver IEPs, and provide direct services as directed by the school • Coordinate with general education teachers to ensure IEP goals, accommodations, and FAPE requirements are met • Support students and parents with alternate instructional strategies and daily assignments/projects • Maintain current student records and data, including cumulative files, attendance, and student logs • Check email when off assignment for upcoming assignments and Substitute Services updates • Meet at least monthly with an assigned Substitute Services supervisor via video conference • Complete required professional learning and maintain active certifications

🎯 Requirements

• Must be highly qualified and hold a valid and active full state teaching certification in special education • Special education instruction experience preferred • Multiple state certifications a plus • Ability to obtain certification in other states as requested • Ability to obtain additional clearances as requested • Bachelor’s degree or higher • Maintain a dedicated, distraction-free home working environment where all business activities will occur • Availability Monday through Friday during assigned school hours, typically 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in the school’s time zone, when on assignment • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Ability to write and monitor IEP plans and willingness to learn various software • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment requiring flexibility, prioritization, self-direction, and creativity • Understanding of IEP/504 plans and virtual implementation • Excellent attention to detail and strong time management and organizational skills • Proven commitment to student achievement • Strong technology skills; learning management systems, Microsoft Office, and Google Apps preferred • Reliable, high-speed internet access • Microsoft OS- and Microsoft Office-equipped computer required; PC preferred • Customer-focused approach and team-player track record • May not provide care for others during normal school hours while on assignment • May not be employed in another job during normal school hours while on assignment • Complete required orientation and training programs within 30 days of hire and at the beginning of each school year • Must complete two-step authentication setup if given a job offer

🏖️ Benefits

• $2,000 sign-on bonus for eligible new hires, paid in equal installments in December 2026 and June 2027 • No benefits (part-time position)
