Connections Academy is a tuition-free, accredited K–12 online public school program operated by Connections Education (a Pearson division). It delivers state-aligned curriculum and virtual classroom experiences with certified teachers, personalized learning, and support for families serving as learning coaches. The program offers grade-level courses, college and career readiness, clubs and socialization opportunities, and technology support across multiple U. S. states.

📋 Description

• Manage instructional programs for students ages 16–21 in grades 9–12 • Support the instructional program through asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction • Complete grading, create progress reports, and conduct parent conferences in a timely manner • Communicate regularly with parents, students, and teachers to develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules • Provide feedback on student work and suggest instructional approaches and strategies • Monitor assignment completion and coach special projects • Maintain general knowledge of the K–12 curriculum and detailed knowledge of assigned grades • Support students and parents with alternate strategies and additional assistance on assignments and projects • Keep student records and data current, including student and family information, attendance, and contact logs • Collaborate with team members and learning specialists on enrichment activities and program modifications • Create and maintain a virtual school community • Participate in organization and administration of State Testing • Participate in student recruiting sessions and marketing efforts requiring teacher representation • Attend field trips and community activities for families • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Certified to teach Technology/Computer Science in South Carolina, appropriate to grade level responsibilities • Must reside in South Carolina • Gifted and Talented Endorsement highly recommended • Strong technology skills, especially with MS Office programs and Google Suite • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Highly organized and punctual • Customer focused approach • High degree of flexibility • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment • Team player track record • Willingness to travel occasionally for school and state testing events, potentially including overnight travel • Ability to work remotely, if necessary • Ability to work occasional evening hours as needed to support some families • Must be able to use a personal electronic device and an email address for two-step authentication
