📋 Description

• Research and write about domestic and international law, including environmental and human rights law, international investment law, and international trade law and policy • Assist with policy analysis and advocacy • Attend meetings and conferences • Assist with producing CIEL publications, legal opinions, and legal briefs • Support preparation of amicus curiae before international tribunals • Work closely with CIEL staff on various projects • Develop skills in international environmental law and legal strategies protecting human rights and the environment under supervision from staff experts and attorneys

🎯 Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a course of study leading to a postgraduate law degree (JD, LLM) or similar professional qualification for the duration of the internship • Recent graduates cannot be accepted • Some experience with international environmental or human rights law through graduate-level courses or work experience • Willingness to make a ten-week commitment of 15 hours/week • Submit a cover letter, resume, and writing sample • Must carry out the internship while physically residing in the United States • CIEL cannot sponsor visas; non-US citizens must be currently enrolled students in the US and undertake the internship under a university-sponsored student visa
