• Research and write about domestic and international law, including environmental and human rights law, international investment law, and international trade law and policy • Assist with policy analysis and advocacy • Attend meetings and conferences • Assist with producing CIEL publications, legal opinions, and legal briefs • Support preparation of amicus curiae before international tribunals • Work closely with CIEL staff on various projects • Develop skills through supervised research, analysis, training, and practice in international environmental law and human rights
• Must be enrolled in a course of study leading to a postgraduate law degree (JD, LLM) or similar professional qualification for the duration of the internship • Recent graduates cannot be accepted • Some experience with international environmental or human rights law through graduate-level courses or work experience • Ten-week commitment at 40 hours/week • Cover letter, resume, and writing sample required • Must physically reside in the United States during the internship • CIEL cannot sponsor visas • Non-US citizens must be currently enrolled students in the US and undertake the internship as part of a university-sponsored student visa
• $2,600 monthly stipend for a full-time internship in the United States • Stipend prorated for less-than-full-time internships • Remote internship arrangement • Supervision and learning from diverse staff of experts and attorneys • Real-world training and practice in international environmental law and human rights
