📋 Description

• Complete assigned audit procedures accurately and timely, including planning, fieldwork, and financial audit report writing • Lead financial audits for credit unions with up to $500 million in assets • Lead and coordinate 1–3 team members during field audits • Review loan portfolios for compliance with state and federal regulations, bylaws, and credit union policy • Evaluate credit union controls and their utilization • Analyze audit test results for compliance with GAAP, accounting procedures, and regulatory requirements • Communicate audit progress, problems, and recommendations to clients • Direct preparation of clear and concise written audit reports • Conduct exit meetings with Audit/Supervisory Committees and/or Boards of Directors • Assist with bank reconciliations, member account verifications, and other administrative tasks • Assist in evaluating and planning audit assignments • Assign audit procedures to field staff and provide ongoing guidance • Review and approve field staff work papers • Perform internal audits as needed • Perform on-site BSA and ACH audits and create written and oral presentations • Assist with training new employees and employee performance reviews • Perform specialized technical jobs such as proof of loss audits, bond claims, and record reconstruction

🎯 Requirements

• High school education plus a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration specializing in accounting or another related field • Working knowledge of auditing principles required • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required • At least 3 years of audit, credit union accounting, or similar/related experience required • Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills for communicating with clients and co-workers • Intermediate mathematical skills, including calculations involving decimals, percentages, and fractions • Ability to travel to different client locations, including by car or air • Ability to sit for the majority of the day • Frequently lift up to 20 pounds • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds • Ability to write complex sentences using proper punctuation and use adjectives and adverbs
