📋 Description

• Provide day-to-day operational leadership for the Design organization • Ensure Design work is appropriately staffed, prioritized, and progressing • Monitor team capacity, workload, priorities, commitments, risks, conflicts, and resource gaps across the portfolio • Establish clarity around work priorities, rationale, and requirements to move work forward • Execute Design work directly when capacity constraints or urgent timelines require it • Help designers and cross-functional partners navigate shifting priorities, dependencies, and competing demands • Improve team processes, tools, and ways of working • Partner with Product and Engineering leaders to integrate Design into planning, prioritization, and delivery • Identify opportunities to reduce friction and improve collaboration • Establish and reinforce shared Design practices, standards, and expectations • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the team • Provide expectations, feedback, performance management, and career development support • Identify capability gaps and create opportunities for learning and experimentation • Help designers develop skills for AI-native product development • Foster curiosity, continuous learning, collaboration, accountability, and adaptability • Build an inclusive team culture across geographic and organizational boundaries • Recruit and retain Design talent and contribute to staffing and organizational planning • Develop emerging leaders and expand team members' impact • Build relationships with Product, Engineering, and other business partners • Represent Design in cross-functional planning and prioritization • Bring customer needs and experience considerations into product decisions • Communicate Design priorities, progress, risks, and opportunities • Contribute to the evolution of the Experience Design organization, operating model, practices, and standards • Advance a consistent, scalable approach to Design • Support development and adoption of the design system, patterns, guidelines, and best practices • Document workflows, processes, and decision points • Stay current with emerging Design practices, AI capabilities, and AI-native product development • Translate relevant opportunities into practical team practices • Model adaptability through changes in tools, processes, technology, and organizational priorities • Complete assigned performance goals, special projects, and other duties

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Design or a related field, or equivalent work experience • 5+ years of professional experience in UX Design, Product Design, Interaction Design, or a related discipline • Experience leading, mentoring, or developing designers or other creative professionals • Strong understanding of user-centered Design practices • Strong organizational and operational skills, including managing competing priorities, assessing capacity, coordinating work across multiple teams, and allocating Design resources • Ability to build effective working relationships with Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional partners • Experience translating ambiguous stakeholder input into structured requirements or documented workflows • Willingness to move fluidly between managing the team's work and personally executing it • Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills • Ability to work effectively amid changing priorities, ambiguity, and evolving ways of working • Experience designing AI-driven experiences, including designing for uncertainty, trust, transparency, and human decision-making • Experience using AI tools to augment Design work, improve productivity, or explore new approaches • Commitment to continuous learning and adapting to new Design tools, technologies, and approaches • Ability to provide a dedicated, secure work area • Ability to provide high-speed internet access/connectivity and office setup and maintenance
