• Conduct expert-level vehicle condition inspections at client and dealer lots • Perform area audits through physical counts of client vehicles and audits of dealer records • Reconcile dealer and Cox customer physical counts and facilitate payments where applicable • Locate, start, move, inspect, and safely return vehicles • Verify vehicle identification and enter accurate VIN, mileage, and sub-series information • Inspect and document vehicle equipment, options, exterior, interior, tires, frame, glass, panels, and mechanical components • Perform basic mechanical checks of powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components • Assist junior mobile inspectors with complex inspections and client relationships • Prepare and provide daily activity reports to management • Adapt daily appointments to maximize dealer-visit efficiency and effectiveness • Develop client knowledge and maintain proactive on-lot engagement to grow inspection volume • Leverage partner data and insights to maximize units inspected • Represent Cox Automotive as a brand ambassador and ensure client satisfaction • Collaborate with Wholesale Specialist teams, peers, Manheim workgroups, and auctions • Use Salesforce.com for reporting, lead input, and customer performance reviews • Apply NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy • Participate in continuous improvement and Lean activities • Maintain production expectations • Follow safety and health procedures and participate in Safety Excellence activities • Perform other duties as assigned
• High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years’ experience in a related field • Alternative: any level of degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience, or 7 years’ experience in a related field • Previous vehicle inspection experience and automotive knowledge, including body and mechanical, required • 2–3 years of automotive-related experience strongly preferred • 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections recommended • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required • Reliable transportation required • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Strong technical aptitude • Detail-oriented • Ability to navigate handheld and other documentation devices preferred • Ability to work independently with remote supervision • Ability to multitask, follow directions, and take instruction • Body, paint, and mechanical repair knowledge helpful • Familiarity with unibody and full-frame helpful • Ability to lift and hold at least 30 lbs. at waist level for an extended period • Ability to perform required standing, walking, talking, hearing, crouching, bending, kneeling, reaching, and vehicle-inspection activities • Near vision abilities to identify vehicle damage • Ability to identify exterior and interior colors • Ability to work in different lighting conditions • Physical ability and mental acuity to execute duties within required timeframes • Must clear a pre-employment drug test • Must currently be authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship • No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship now or in future
