📋 Description

• Create visual designs for compelling user experiences across desktop and mobile software platforms integrated with branded hardware • Translate complex ideas into simple, useful designs • Collaborate with UX researchers, interaction designers, software developers, and QA to deliver high-quality visual designs • Help drive development of a visual design system for speed and consistency • Participate in every stage of the user-centered design process, from early visualization through user-testable prototypes and pixel-perfect implementation-ready designs • Articulate design directions, rationale, tradeoffs, and alternatives • Leverage, extend, and maintain Cricut’s brand in collaboration with the Creative Team • Balance multiple design projects while ensuring visual coherence across software • Execute designs to the quality of leading consumer brands and communicate product design trends to the UX team • Work hands-on while directing a small team of UX visual designers • Collaborate with interaction designers, researchers, product managers, developers, industrial designers, Marketing, and Creative teams

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a UI / Product designer working on consumer-facing software applications on more than one platform (e.g., Mac, Windows, iOS, Android) • Proven ability to partner with UX designers, UX researchers, software developers and QA • Exceptional portfolio demonstrating software application visual design executed to a high level of impact and refinement • Experience working in an Agile environment • Proficiency with user interface design patterns and standard User Centered Design methods • Mastery of standard design tools such as Figma, Sketch or Adobe Creative Suite and willingness to learn new tools • Excellent visual design skills, including typography, color theory, composition, and branded experiences • Previous experience overseeing, managing, and mentoring other designers • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, information design, fine art, or relevant field • Able to work Mountain Time hours • Strong conceptual thinking and design problem-solving ability • Keen attention to detail and ability to simplify complicated systems • Excellent written and spoken communication • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills • Interest in DIY / crafting experiences and empathy for Cricut’s users
