📋 Description

• Lead study and protocol design and independently author statistical analysis plans and statistical/methods sections of grant applications and protocols • Serve as principal or lead statistician across observational, registry, and real-world evidence studies in cardiovascular care • Design and apply advanced analytic strategies for observational data, including causal-inference, hierarchical/Bayesian, and predictive/machine-learning approaches • Define analytic strategy, endpoint and phenotype definitions, and data-quality frameworks across studies and real-world data sources • Serve as statistical lead and co-author on manuscripts • Respond to methodological critique from peer reviewers, sponsors, and regulators, and defend analytic choices • Mentor and provide technical direction to Biostatistician I and II staff • Represent biostatistics in cross-functional and external settings as needed • Perform coding, table and figure development, and other core statistics work

🎯 Requirements

• Master's degree (MS or MPH) plus approximately 5–8+ years, or doctoral degree (PhD) plus approximately 2–4+ years, of applied biostatistics/epidemiology experience • Demonstrated expertise in advanced methods for observational and real-world data, including causal-inference and confounding-control techniques • Track record of independently authoring statistical analysis plans and statistical/methods sections of protocols or grant applications • Advanced proficiency in SAS and/or R, including reproducible-analysis and code-review practices • Advanced proficiency in SQL • History of methodological leadership and contribution to peer-reviewed publications • Excellent communication skills, including ability to translate complex methods for non-technical audiences • Substantial experience in real-world evidence and observational research using EHR, administrative claims, and clinical registries • Preferred: cardiovascular research experience, particularly cardiac imaging and cardiac procedural research • Preferred: experience on grant-funded studies and interacting with industry or foundation sponsors • Preferred: familiarity with cardiovascular code sets (ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT) and CMS data structures and algorithms • Preferred: proficiency in Power BI for data visualization • Preferred: experience mentoring or supervising statistical staff • Ability to operate autonomously and exercise sound methodological judgment • Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, and communication skills • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fully remote, part-time environment • Collaborative and responsive approach to feedback • High integrity and motivation to improve cardiovascular care quality and outcomes
