📋 Description

• Serve as senior physician and product leader across Clinic Operations and Quality & Stars technical domains • Provide clinical insight and technical expertise for end-to-end Epic-enabled technology solutions • Lead enterprise-wide Epic optimization to improve workflows, efficiency, quality, and patient safety • Translate organizational priorities into Epic workflows, decision support, reporting, and clinician tools • Support Epic upgrades, testing, implementation, change management, enterprise go-lives, and major releases • Monitor adoption and effectiveness of Epic enhancements and recommend continuous improvements • Participate in enterprise governance committees as a trusted clinical advisor • Partner with physician, operational, and technical leaders to create prioritized technology roadmaps • Present enterprise status, risks, and outcomes to leadership and governance committees • Serve as an escalation point for clinical and workflow issues • Identify opportunities to reduce administrative burden and improve clinician satisfaction • Champion standardization, best practices, and evidence-based care • Assess Epic roadmap releases, industry trends, automation, interoperability, and AI-enabled workflows • Mentor and develop clinical informatics team members and clinician-technologists • Maintain 0.2 FTE clinical practice and 0.8 FTE clinical informatics leadership • Travel domestically approximately 1–2 times per quarter • Report to the Chief Health Informatics Officer for CVS-HCD Technology

🎯 Requirements

• Licensed clinician — MD/DO (Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Med-Peds), NP, or PA in good standing • Enthusiastic about remaining in clinical practice (~20% clinical FTE) • 10–12 years of relevant work experience • High-performing clinician with demonstrated excellence in care model outcomes, patient experience, and teamwork • Completion of Epic Builder training and certification, or willingness to obtain within a designated timeframe • Minimum 5 years of ambulatory clinical practice experience • Demonstrated interest or experience in clinical product, clinical informatics, safety, quality improvement, healthcare operations, or workflow redesign • Experience presenting to and building relationships with senior stakeholders across a large enterprise • Strong communication, collaboration, and change management skills • Experience leading projects, quality improvement initiatives, or large organizational change efforts • Knowledge of value-based care, quality metrics, and patient safety strategies • Familiarity with interoperability standards and healthcare regulatory requirements, including HIPAA and Promoting Interoperability • Highly accountable with excellent follow through • Board Certified in Clinical Informatics (preferred) • Experience leading or sponsoring Epic upgrades, optimization initiatives, or major go-lives (preferred) • Demonstrated leadership within the care model (preferred)
