📋 Description

• Develop NLP, LLM, and other ML-based pipelines to abstract labels from text-based healthcare data and store them in scalable data models • Query complex healthcare source systems, including EMRs, semi-structured reports, and free-text clinical notes • Identify key data elements and create and enrich datasets for real-world evidence analyses and AI algorithm training • Own data extraction, wrangling, labeling, and quality-control tasks for analytical datasets • Apply current NLP and generative AI methods to relevant use cases • Design, test, validate, analyze, and merge multimodal data structures from varied source systems • Develop code and documentation for high-quality, HIPAA-compliant data products • Troubleshoot problems and ensure data accuracy, integrity, and validity • Support the technical product team and advance data-related product offerings • Explain abstraction methods, findings, and recommendations to technical and clinical audiences • Report to the Data Science Manager under the Head of Data • Attend occasional in-person company working days, roughly quarterly

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Data Science, Biomedical Informatics, Computer Science, Biostatistics), or B.S. with at least 5 years of professional experience • At least 2 years of data science and machine learning experience, including building pipelines to extract and curate unstructured and semi-structured data using advanced machine learning and AI techniques • Fluency in Python and SQL, including ML/NLP libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and HuggingFace • Familiarity with modern applied LLM techniques on real-world data • Strong technical writing, editing, and communication skills • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines • Git and version control • Familiarity with encryption methods • Experience querying EDWs or databases and creating healthcare reports or analytics • Familiarity with electronic medical record data, such as Epic, Cerner, or Allscripts • Medical ontology experience • Experience with DICOM or other imaging modalities • Experience with AWS • Experience publishing work in peer-reviewed journals • Ability to work in the US and authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis are requested in the application form
