📋 Description

• Support managed service engagements as a primary point of contact • Maintain the performance, availability, and security of production Oracle databases • Optimize production systems • Assist in building a Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) offering • Support backup, recovery, and database maintenance operations • Assist with database installations, patching, and upgrades • Follow ITSM/ITIL processes for incident, request, and change management • Create and maintain operational documentation • Assist with automation tasks using SQL, Shell scripting, Python, or PowerShell • Learn and support high availability and disaster recovery solutions under senior DBA guidance • Gather and analyze basic database performance metrics • Assist in maintaining reports on database availability, capacity, and backup success • Work directly with enterprise clients and collaborate with Datavail DBAs • Leverage AI tools for research, documentation, troubleshooting, scripting assistance, and operational efficiency

🎯 Requirements

• Experienced Oracle DBA / Oracle database administration experience • Expertise in backup and recovery, performance monitoring, patching, upgrades, and high availability technologies such as RAC and Data Guard • Experience with OEM, RMAN, cloud platforms (AWS, OCI, or Azure), and scripting/automation preferred • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills • Must hold or obtain an AWS Associate Solutions Architect certification within 12 months of employment • U.S. Citizenship or Green Card status required due to ITAR requirements • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent technical experience • Oracle Database certification or coursework preferred • AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or OCI Foundations certification preferred • 1-3 years of experience supporting Oracle databases, including academic, internship, or professional experience • Understanding of Oracle Database concepts and architecture • Familiarity with Oracle Database versions 11g through 23ai • Understanding of Linux and Windows administration • Exposure to Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), Oracle Data Guard, RAC, and cloud platforms preferred • Experience with database monitoring and routine maintenance preferred • Understanding of RMAN backup and recovery concepts • Experience installing, patching, or upgrading Oracle databases • Familiarity with Oracle security concepts, user management, and privileges • Understanding of database health checks, capacity monitoring, and performance analysis • SQL development and troubleshooting skills • Understanding of indexes, statistics, and query execution plans • Ability to identify and escalate database performance issues • Familiarity with Oracle performance monitoring tools and reports • Familiarity with SQL, Shell scripting, Python, or PowerShell for automation • Understanding of ITSM/ITIL processes • Basic understanding of data warehousing and ETL concepts is a plus • Familiarity with AI-assisted productivity and development tools such as Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar platforms
