• Process release of information (ROI), specifically medical record requests, accurately and efficiently • Receive and process requests for patient health information according to Company and Facility policies and procedures • Maintain confidentiality and security of privileged information • Maintain working knowledge of Company and facility software • Adhere to Company and customer facility codes of conduct and policies • Inform manager of work, site difficulties, and/or fluctuating volumes • Assist with additional work duties or responsibilities as required • Apply medical privacy regulations consistently to prevent unauthorized disclosure • Manage and safeguard patient health records in compliance with HIPAA standards • Prepare new patient charts by gathering documents and information from paper and electronic health records • Assemble medical records in standard order and ensure they are accurate and complete • Create digital images of paperwork for storage in electronic medical records • Retrieve and transmit patient records appropriately for internal and external requests • Answer inbound and outbound calls • Assist with patient walk-ins • Handle faxes, open mail, and perform data entry as needed • Meet site-specific productivity expectations • Schedule pickups as needed • Work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and respond to changing priorities
• High School Diploma or GED • Ability to commute between locations as needed • Able to work overtime during peak seasons when required • Basic computer proficiency • Comfortable utilizing phones, fax machine, printers, and other general office equipment on a regular basis • Professional verbal and written communication skills in the English language • Detail and quality oriented as it relates to accurate and compliant information for medical records • Strong data entry skills • Must be able to work with minimum supervision responding to changing priorities and role needs • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks • Able to respond to requests in a fast-paced environment • This job is not eligible for employment sponsorship • Preferred: Knowledge of HIPAA and medical terminology • Preferred: Familiarity with different EHR and Billing Systems • Preferred: Experience working with subpoenas • Bonus points: Experience in a healthcare environment • Bonus points: Previous production/metric-based work experience • Bonus points: In-person customer service experience • Bonus points: Ability to build relationships with on-site clients and customers
