📋 Description

• Own the monthly revenue close for enterprise committed usage, self-serve consumption, and direct entries • Reconcile self-serve payments-stack activity and tie results out monthly • Own contract liability and deferred revenue by customer and contract, tied to the GL and rebuildable from source • Apply ASC 606 policies covering material rights, breakage, standalone selling price and allocation, variable consideration, and contract modifications • Explain monthly and quarterly revenue and deferred-revenue movements, metrics, and analysis to executives, the board, Deal Desk, and Customer Success • Manage and develop the revenue accountant, including review, feedback, segregation of duties, and management review controls • Own usage-to-billing-to-GL reconciliation and define accounting specifications, tolerances, and exception handling • Serve as day-to-day auditor contact for revenue, preparing PBC packages and walkthroughs • Build revenue controls with the Directors, including assertions, owners, frequency, and evidence for future SOX readiness • Advise Deal Desk, Sales, Customer Success, and Legal on order-form terms, credits, and overage mechanics • Lead the revenue workstream for a billing and revenue platform migration, including requirements, close-process design, data migration, cutover reconciliations, and parallel-run validation • Rebuild the close around AI, including term extraction, reconciliation matching, anomaly detection, schedule generation, variance narratives, and PBC assembly

🎯 Requirements

• Seven or more years in accounting, with most experience in revenue • Experience owning a monthly or quarterly close from start to finish • Experience reviewing another accountant’s work • Hands-on ASC 606 experience in a consumption or drawdown model • Knowledge of material rights, breakage and forfeiture estimation, standalone selling price and allocation, variable consideration, contract modifications, contract liabilities, and gross versus net • Ability to perform data work using SQL, Python, or a spreadsheet methodology end to end • Working practice using LLMs on revenue work • Systems fluency with a billing and revenue platform such as Ordway, Zuora, Maxio, RevPro, NetSuite ARM, or Rillet; a payments stack, CRM, and GL • Clear written communication for non-accounting audiences and auditors • Active CPA preferred • Big 4 or national firm foundation is a plus • High integrity, high ownership, low ego
