📋 Description

• Administer and support SQL Server and cloud databases for the Tolling Engineering and Operations Team • Provide help desk and application support as part of a team rotation • Monitor databases to maintain uptime and availability • Troubleshoot application and database issues involving connectivity, access, and security • Tune long-running SQL queries • Review and refine database tasks and processes to align with agency and group priorities • Use operating-system scripting utilities for database maintenance, diagnosis, and support • Review database implementation and propose, execute, or direct necessary changes • Perform SQL Server installations, including versions 2022 and 2025+ with failover clustering • Administer, support, and tune SQL Server databases • Work with Engineering and Operations professionals • Communicate clearly and effectively in speaking and writing

🎯 Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server databases • At least 1 year of Azure, Snowflake, or Databricks experience; a certification is acceptable in lieu of experience • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or other applicable and/or equivalent skills, knowledge and/or work history • Demonstrated experience communicating effectively using standard requirements and design artifacts • Expertise working as a SQL Server DBA • Experience with SQL clustering, mirroring, and high availability • Experience with large SQL databases • Expertise writing Transact-SQL • Experience tuning SQL Server databases • Experience installing, upgrading, patching, and migrating SQL Server databases • Experience working on a Windows platform • Exposure to SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS • Experience working with Azure Cloud • Knowledge of data modeling principles • Ability to work independently on complicated tasks • Ability to work with an Engineering and Operations team • Clear and effective verbal and written communication • Fingerprint-based background check required
