• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses as a visiting professor in manufacturing and automation • Facilitate student learning in accordance with DeVry University requirements • Develop course syllabi and lesson plans aligned with course and programmatic objectives • Organize, prepare, revise, and update course materials • Use online technologies and course-related software, including websites, email, and online discussions • Model effective oral and written communication to engage students and improve learning • Publish course objectives, assignment and examination dates, and evaluation weight distributions • Ensure examinations align with terminal course objectives • Prepare and grade exams consistently and fairly • Provide timely feedback to students • Integrate responsible use of AI technologies into teaching and learning • Recognize, evaluate, and address appropriate and inappropriate student use of AI tools • Participate in comprehensive faculty training and ongoing faculty development activities • Complete other duties as assigned
• Doctorate in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, Automation Engineering, or a closely related field • At least 18 graduate credit hours in manufacturing systems, industrial automation, robotics, production engineering, or related technical disciplines • Unofficial graduate-level transcripts must be uploaded with the application • Degree must be awarded by an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or by an internationally equivalent accredited institution • Three to five years of applied professional experience in manufacturing environments, industrial automation, production engineering, robotics, or advanced manufacturing systems • Experience with manufacturing processes and automation technologies, including production systems, programmable logic controllers, robotics, industrial control systems, or smart manufacturing environments • Two to five years of post-secondary teaching experience, preferably in manufacturing technology, industrial automation, robotics, or applied engineering disciplines • Industry-recognized certifications or professional credentials relevant to manufacturing, industrial automation, robotics, or production systems • Strong subject matter expertise in manufacturing systems and automated technologies • Effective communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to diverse learners • Knowledge of industrial safety standards, quality management practices, and operational efficiency principles within manufacturing environments • Additional requirements may apply based on state licensing, institutional policy, or accreditation standards • Preferred: experience with robotics integration, industrial automation systems, CNC, additive manufacturing, smart factory systems, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, production optimization, industrial systems integration, IIoT, automated production monitoring, accreditation processes, professional organizations, laboratory instruction, industrial simulations, automation platforms, and applied production system projects
