📋 Description

• Generate and cultivate a pipeline of mortgage loan opportunities through outreach, networking, and marketing • Develop and maintain relationships with real estate professionals and prospective borrowers • Evaluate borrower financial information for creditworthiness and mortgage eligibility • Educate clients on mortgage products, rates, and lending guidelines • Manage the loan process from application through closing • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners for timely, accurate closings • Communicate with borrowers and request documentation throughout the loan lifecycle • Maintain compliant documentation according to regulatory and credit union standards • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and product offerings • Cross-sell other credit union services to members • Represent Deseret First Credit Union professionally and ethically • Sell mortgage loans by explaining and communicating credit union loan products and services

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required • Associate degree or specialized training preferred • 1–3 years minimum experience, ideally 2–5 years in mortgage loan officer or similar role • Proven experience as a Mortgage Loan Officer or similar role • Demonstrated success generating independent business preferred • Deep knowledge of mortgage products, lending regulations, and compliance standards • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines independently • Self-motivated with entrepreneurial spirit • Ability to work remotely without direct supervision • Active NMLS number required • Basic word processing and computer skills required • Ability to read and interpret real estate purchase contracts, loan program guidelines, tax returns, income documentation, credit reports, and preliminary title reports • Ability to maintain confidentiality • Good time management and ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks simultaneously • Knowledge of Encompass Software helpful
